About us

The Institut Supérieur de l’Économie (ISEC) is a higher education institution founded by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Chambre des Métiers, and officially recognised by the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

ISEC offers bachelor’s and master’s programmes for working professionals in Luxembourg and the Greater Region who want to progress within their company and earn a university degree. To that end, thanks to its close ties with employers’ federations and companies, ISEC provides continuing education that is practice-oriented and aligned with the needs of the economy.

To be able to offer our students internationally recognised academic degrees, ISEC has built a close cooperation network with several leading partner institutions in a number of countries.

Mission

As in most European countries, the bulk of educational provision in Luxembourg rests with the public sector. In vocational education, however, there remains a need that the public system does not fully cover. It was to close this gap that the Chamber of Commerce, together with the Chambre des Métiers, decided in 2016 to establish ISEC.

As representatives of employers, the two chambers see the principal task of ISEC not in initial education but rather in the continuing education of people already in work. ISEC students are people in the process of changing direction, or broadening their skills to meet the constantly shifting demands of working life.

ISEC is therefore an indispensable, privately backed initiative that secures the continuing professional education Luxembourg needs.
