The Institut Supérieur de l’Économie (ISEC) is an institution of higher education founded by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce) and the Chamber of Crafts (Chambre des Métiers), and is officially recognized by the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The ISEC offers Bachelor and Master courses designed for professionals in Luxembourg and the Greater Region who wish to develop within their company and obtain a university degree validating specific skills. Simultaneously, and thanks to its close ties to employer’s associations and companies, the ISEC offers a practice-oriented training, aiming to fulfil the needs of the Luxembourgish economy.

In order to offer our students internationally recognized academic degrees the ISEC has created a close cooperation network with several high-level partner universities in different countries.

 An initiative of

As in most European countries, most education efforts in Luxembourg are in public hands. However, there is a particular need in the area of vocational education and training that is not yet fully covered by the public education system. To close this gap, the Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce) and the Chamber of Crafts (Chambre des Métiers) decided to found the ISEC in 2016.

As representatives of the employers, the two chambers see the ISEC's main task not in offering initial training, but rather in offering training for those who are already in employment. ISEC students are people who are in a process of reorientation or who are expanding their skills in order to meet the ever-changing challenges of the everyday business environment.

This makes the ISEC an indispensable, privately supported initiative that offers urgently needed vocational training programs in Luxembourg.
